Sacred Sounds For Healing

Created and run by Peter Whitehart

Sound Gong Bath provides regular gong meditations for groups of people at public venues throughout the South West of England.

I am now in my twelve year of running public and private celebrations gong baths, even though 2020 and 2021 was not possible I have confident that 2022 will be a good year with lots of celebrations going on. I have my public liability insurance renewed for the year and I am looking forward to playing the gongs again.

I travel throughout the South West of England to run gong baths for events such as yoga, holistic retreats or spiritual festivals. I also run gong baths for weddings and private celebrations.

A gong bath is a relaxing and blissful experience. During a gong bath you are bathed in sound waves, there are no clothes removed or water involved, you simply lie down on crash mats (which I supply), wrap yourself in a blanket, lay your head on a pillow, close your eyes and relax. The gongs are normally played for an hour. The sounds that come out of the gongs are difficult for the human brain to follow, and you will most likely drift into a deep meditative state. This can happen once or many times throughout a session, everyone can have their own experience and every session is different. The gong bath is very good at relieving pain, stress or dealing with personal issues, it tends to bring people to a blissful state that can often last for many days. When the session ends I gently bring the group back with small tingling bells and my Heart sounding bowl, and sometimes other instruments.

Here's how a gong bath attendee explains it.

I found the Peace I was seeking after all...  Not here amongst the rolling farmland, gentle trees and building storm clouds, but in the middle of town in a room full of people.
I took a pillow and a blanket, and with many others, immersed myself in a Gong Bath.
For over an hour we lay on the floor like refugees; elbows to elbows, feet against feet, heads against heads.  Two shining gongs were played non-stop, and as the sound waves connected with my body, I gave myself up to the vibrational shift.  I blended with it, I became it, and in so doing, blended with all the other people, so that at one point I wasn't sure if there was anyone else in the room at all. I slept, I fell asleep, drifting in and out in a state of pure bliss and total peacefullness.  At the end everyone remained still and silent; it was as if we were One.  It was truly beautiful. I wanted to hug everyone, I didn't want the feeling of such deep connection to ever end.

If humanity only knew how beautiful we all are!  How could we ever harm another when we can feel such truth?
Perhaps one day the gongs will ring out all across planet earth, and we WILL be as one!
