Freestyle Drum Circles
The modern world in which we live creates separation; our race, sex, education, politics, religion and so much more serve to disconnect us from one another. During a freestyle community drum circle the separation is healed and a non verbal connection takes place. What starts out as a gathering of strangers soon becomes the feeling of deep connection as if we have all known one another for many years. The joy of seeing people come alive and experience such happiness is an amazing experience. The drum is the most ancient instrument in the world, which dates back thousands of years and has always been used as a healing instrument; it gives us a powerful link with our tribal past. My freestyle drum circles are not about coming to learn rhythm, and its not a place to come to be told what to do. It's freedom to come play the drum in harmony, it's a gathering of people who are free to drum, dance, sing or sit and enjoy the music being played. I supply drums and other percussion instruments but you are very welcome to bring your own drum.
