Three hours of Drum Circle.

Come and join us once month for a freestyle drum circle, no drumming experience is necessary. I provide drums and other percussion instruments but you are very welcome to bring your own drum. Tea's, coffee and biscuits are available.

You may arrive and leave when you want to, it’s not necessary to stay for the complete three hours.

The three hours will be spent freestyle drumming (everyone having a drum or other percussion instruments and just playing). This may begin as complete chaos but can soon take on a group energy and gel into a musical experience. Drumming conversations begin to emerge as people become connected beyond the music being played. No previous drumming is necessary, everyone can drum. This is a time to be free and express yourself through the drum, to create your own rhythm and merge as a group. This is a time to get lost in the drum and enjoy the experience.  We will play throughout the three hours to be of support to the group but we will not be taking a leading role. There is freedom to play as much or as little as you would like; you may want to change instruments part way through, and this is fine. Also, you may want to dance, sing or just sit down and close your eyes and experience the drumming - be free to do what feels right for you. We also encourage other instruments so long as it complements the drumming.

There are no rules, no dos and don’ts, this is a time to just drum within a group setting. It’s for everyone from experienced drummers to those who have never drummed before.

The drum circles are more about the therapeutic effect that is gained through drumming rather than come and learn drumming and rhythm.

In a nut shell: its a gathering of people who drum together with no agenda prepared, just drum dance sing and having a great experiance.

Even though three hours sounds like a long time for drumming we do find that the evening does rush by very quickly and so the drumming must come to a close. The ending could be a gentle slowing down of drumming or it can also feel right to have a crazy manic short bust of drumming then a complete stop. Whatever the group dynamic creates occurs!

Because all the drums that are supplied have synthetic heads they are suitable for vegans, as they contain no animal products.

You may arrive and leave when you want to, it’s not necessary to stay for the complete three hours. If you can only come for an hour please do come and join us!

 About Marina

I qualified in anatomy, phisiology and massage in 1998. Then continued further education the following year with a qualification in Aromatherapy. since then I have done many workshops and courses to enhance my knowledge and skills such as, Indian head massage, Tibetan Accpressure massage, Polarity Therapy, Spiritual Healing, Personal Development training. After having a couple of years out after doing the physical therapies, I gained my Reiki 1st & 2nd Degrees, I qualified as Reiki Master in 2003, following the Usui linage of Reiki. I have taught many students reiki 1st and 2nd Degree and have a guided a few onto their Masters degree as well. I enjoy both aspects of Reiki, the healing session as well as passing on the knowledge and encouraging the learning process in others.

I then had the opportunity to learn Reflexology, I find this therapy amazing, how can massaging the feet help different parts of the body? fascinating, and you can tell all sorts of things about the individual just by reading the feet!

I feel so blessed to be able to work in this way. It is fantastic to see how people grow with a little TLC and some guidance ( as my Spirit helpers are nearly always around when I am working)
