Coombe Farm

The campsite is set in  a beautiful  lush wooded valley near Tiverton in Devon. Much of it is semi-wild with an abundance of wildlife, with many paths and tracks to follow.
The campsite is available for hire by groups of up to 50 people from May till September.

Camp facilities include :

Camping terraces Campfire area with sawn wood for each camp, communal kitchen with gas cooker, sinks, and utensils, an African hut with stove for evening gatherings and workshops, an open fronted hangout area, compost loos. Washing facilities include woodfired bath, gas powered shower

Please note

  • The site is off grid. Generators and amplified music are not allowed
  • Campers are asked not to bring dogs if at all possible. If dogs do come they should be kept under control.
  • Cars are not allowed onto the camp site. Wheelbarrows are provided for carrying camping equipment.
  • Be warned that the concrete track is very steep. 1st gear should be engaged both up and down.
  • Cars can be parked on the grass at right angles to the track.
  • The kitchen is vegetarian!
  • Unsorted or unrecyclable rubbish must be taken home.

The video below was made to show the layout of the Coombe Farm campsite area, as the campsite is not a flat ground conventional campsite it would be useful to view the video to get an idea of what walking is required especially if you are disabled. no vehicles are allowed on the camping area, this is because the campsite area is grass and there is a very steep hill climb and is therefore not suitable for vehicles.

The video was taken whilst walking around the camp area and due to walking up and down the slopes it was not posible to hold the camera still.

By car – From M5 motorway, junction 27, take the A361 to Tiverton (7 miles). At the roundabout, take the A396 towards Bampton. Turn right at Cove (signed village hall/Huntsham). Go up the hill to the crossroads (Van Post) at the top (1.5 miles). Turn left (towards Bampton) and Coombe Farm is the first entrance on the left (0.3 miles).

Parking  - is at the bottom and to the sides of the steep concrete track. Park at right angles to the track, leaving plenty of space between each car, and try not to obstruct the turning circle. The camping field is a car free zone. It has level camping terraces and access to them is by foot.

By Train – Tiverton Parkway is the nearest station from where there are occasional busses to Tiverton and from Tiverton bus station to Cove.

Sat navs and the above google map will lead you about 4 miles out of your way, please follow the direction written above which starts from juntion 27 of the M5 and you will get to Coombe Farm in about 15 minutes. Unnamed Rd, Tiverton EX16 7QJ, UK

The directions on the above google maps link will lead you to the entrance of Coombe Farm when using EX16 7QJ, however a sat nav will get you to about 50 metres before throwing you off route. To avoid this ignore the turning off when you reach Van Post and continue on 50 metres and Coombe Farm is the next turning on the left.
